Ground Gas Monitoring
Advanced Investigation Systems is able to provide a comprehensive ground gas monitoring service matching the requirements of:
• National House-Building Council (NHBC);
• Local Authority Building Control Bodies;
• Waste Management Bodies;
• The latest Guidance Documents including CIRIA Report 659 (2006) and
NHBC / RSK Report No.4 (2007);
• ‘Traffic Light’ system for ground gas risk assessment;
• CLR11.
Gas / Water Monitoring Installations
If required, A.I.S. can carry out the construction of ground gas monitoring installations using 50mm internal diameter slotted well screen as recommended by NHBC / RSK Report No.4 (2007).
The installations are finished off using either flush fit, cast iron inspection covers or the lockable ‘top hat’ type that stand proud of the ground surface.
Monitoring Parameters
Using fully calibrated gas monitoring instruments including the GA2000+ (with internal flow measure-ment) and Phocheck 1000+ we monitor, record and report the following parameters as standard:
• borehole gas volume flow rate;
• methane (peak & steady state);
• carbon dioxide (peak & steady state);
• oxygen (peak & steady state);
• carbon monoxide;
• hydrogen sulphide;
• volatile organic compounds (VOC’s)
• balance gases;
• relative borehole pressure;
• borehole water level;
• barometric pressure, weather and temperature.
