Ground Investigation
Advanced Investigation Systems operates a number of track mounted Competitor 130 and Dart window / windowless soil sampling rigs. These can produce a continuous good quality sample profile for logging and studying of the soil fabric in detail.
Where access is a problem, the rigs can be disassembled, winched into position and powered remotely. With extremely difficult access, hydraulically powered, hand window sampling equipment is available.
Installations including gas/water monitoring wells, inclinometer access tubing and piezometers (standpipe / pneumatic / vibrating wire) can be installed within the sampled borehole.
Ground and foundation investigation can also be carried out by hand or machine excavation and hand auger, together with soakaway or permeability testing to the relevant standard.
The difficult and tight access capabilities of the rigs we use, make this equipment ideal for subsidence and tree desiccation investigation and studies
